I hope they're plotting to bring back the Soviet Union. The Cold War was so much better than the war on terror for so many reasons. Also am I the only American on this site? That makes me sad...mostly because I am jealous that all of you don't have to live here. Родина!

No I never lived in Russia I just like the culture. I hope to visit some day, and I'm even considering picking up the language. At the moment though I speak very little and am mostly relying on http://translate.google.com/#auto|ru| to help me.

I from St.-Petersburg. Besides buildering I am engaged in rock-climbing and mountaineering. Was in Italy this summer.... Area Lavaredo.

Nice work on the climbs, and welcome to the site! It's not easy to make a story with embedded images (which Kiell will readily attest to). My feeble attempts to make things easier (rich-text) really seems to make it harder.
In any case, I can put together an article for you, for the front page, and for the gallery section. Do you have a name using the latin alphabet (english characters) that I can use?

I can translate article through the translator into English and send to you, or open to me access for a while in section "home", for article placing!

Hello Denis,
You now have permission to Create Content -> Story. See the menu on the left of the front page of buildering.net. I don't have time right now to explain how to format your story, add pics, etc. Hopefully this WYSIWYG editor helps you out (although personally I think it sucks, and I post all stories by clicking the "Disable rich-text" button).
In any case I'm looking into ways to make buildering.net *MUCH* less easier for people to post content. But by all means, post your new story. I'll fix anything if you screw it up too badly.

Looks good! I made the teaser for you. There's a checkbox called "split summary at cursor". Wherever your cursor is in the article, that's where the teaser ends.

I host a University of British Columbia buildering contest once a year, typically held in the first week of April, and details will be posted on this site a couple weeks before the contest. I make no specious claims to the "international" scale of the event. There's a few buildering contests held around the globe: the Italians have a couple, the British have had one or two, and then the Vancouver one. I'd say that Sondrio one qualifies as the first LEGAL buildering competition, something none of the other contests can claim. So, participating in a Vancouver buildering contest might just end you up with a ticket, in jail, or deported, depending on how you play your cards should authorities be alerted to our activities -- but really you'd have to act like a complete asshole to the cops in order to get anything other than a warning and a "move along".
If you're serious about coming out to Vancouver for this year's competition, let me know and I can give you a heads up a bit in advance to give you time to make travel plans.

I'm not sure when the next Sondrio contest will be. I suspect around December 2011. I'll probably see you guys there! As for Vancouver, I'll keep you posted.
