UBC Buildering Contest 1

First Annual UBC Buildering Contest

Despite The Man's valiant effort to shut us down, some 25 odd souls managed to partake in some good ol' fashioned concrete-pulling action.

Each problem had a point value, and the person with the highest cumulative score won the illustrious Ardman Award. Oooh isn't it sexy? In true buildering style, all parts were collected from a dumpster.

We managed to climb for awhile around the SUB, and then made our way to the SRC cubbyhole problem, where a Plant Ops worker spotted Mike climbing the the walls. He stopped his truck and honked his horn to try and get our attention. Of course we were certain he was stoked to see some hardcore buildering action, so we all joined in with shouting and cheering. Mikey sent.

Unfortunately Plant Ops buddy harboured some jealousy, he knew he could never builder as hard as Mike so he called the Campus Cowboys. Poo Poo on him.

Being the first time I've organized anything like this, there were some lessons to be learned. Firstly, to keep a low profile. Apparently not everyone enjoys our antics. Secondly, assuming 25 people could get through 33 routes in 2 hours was a little ambitious. We got through 4.

Contest Results:

1st place: Janez
2nd place: Mike
